I love this small book so much!!!
The illustrations are on spot and the little lines said everything. It depicts mental wellness, depression and suicide. And all those feelings that others would not understand.
Everything was then damn relatable.

That's one of many expert stories in the book, but it'due south the one that struck me. I spoke in a couple other reviews near beingness diagnosed with depression and my shitty shitty meds and how they did nothing. That story that catches where I'thou coming from.

The wonderful thing about these footling books, is that at that place truly is something in there for everyone. Whether you're e'er happy or e'er lamentable, chances are in that location is a story to fit your mood. However, whether everyone would capeesh information technology is unknown. I think these books are most enjoyed by complimentary-spirited people who love quirky things. I never thought of myself in that way earlier, simply I am 100% smitten with these books.
As well, as a book lover I am in love with the dazzler of these books. They are tiny, sure, but they pack a lot of punch and they wait great on the shelves! And with the holidays speedily approaching, they would be a great gift for lovers of books, fine art, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt ;)

The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories Volume 2 is a fun drove of short stories. Some of the stories are quirky, which I liked. The illustrations that went with the stories were peachy. Information technology would be hard to identify a single unifying theme in this volume, but there are a few common threads. The text of the outset slice reads "we must hide discover ourselves in fiction," and many of the pieces explore the importance of stories in our lives, and the idea of fiction as more than mere escapism, but rather as a method of making meaning. Many of the pieces as well use wordplay and juxtaposition to toy with our expectations or shift our perspective with just a few words or a few pencil lines. For instance, the text "one day she looked up and discovered an opening in her planet. She wondered if she wasn't lone after all," takes on a new meaning when placed next to a drawing of a fishbowl.
Physically and artistically, this is a beautiful book. It is small-scale, similar the stories information technology contains, with a navy cloth comprehend and illustrated endpapers. The illustrations are largely black and white, with the occasional splash of red, merely the express palate never seems to limit the expression; y'all meet the total run of what tin be done with black, white, grey and red in these pages. Although this book is available in digital class, I highly recommend the paper copy, particularly if your device has an e-ink screen.

This is another, amazing collection of stories and illustrations in the Tiny Book series. I reviewed Book 1 last twelvemonth and was then taken with the project in full general, that I didn't hesitate even for a moment when Book 2 was offered to me earlier this year. HitRECord, founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt invites writers and illustrators to contribute to these volumes via the HitRECord website.
These works are short, super short. We're talking one to 2 pages long with only a few lines of text. The novelty is that it's tiny, can be held in a pocket and whipped out whenever yous have a moment. My daughter walked off with Volume 1, but I've had Volume 2 on my desk for a couple of weeks now and I can't tell you how many have stopped by to check it out.
What I like about this series is that it makes art and stories accessible to all people, even non-readers. In that location is not ane person I've shown this book to that did non discover information technology interesting in some way. And the volume itself is just lovely! I can't wait to have the entire serial sitting on my shelf.
Practice check out the website if you are interested considering at that place are a lot of videos to watch likewise.

I merely wanted to give a shout out for The Tiny Volume of Tiny Stories 2. I was fortunate to read and review the first volume when it came out and am glad to report that this adjacent volume is but as enchanting. The Tiny Book is a collection of illustrations and small statements, so that y'all detect a tiny poem/story for every 2 pages. The volume is a collaboration of unlike artists - "HitRecord" curates submissions from the public to come upward with a careful selection that combines humour, hope and only a petty darkness. Information technology's the sort of book that I would take loved as a teenager and still savour now, many many years later. The book's embrace says: "The universe is non made of atoms; it's made of tiny stories."
At that place are stories of dearest (some sad and some happy), I prefer the sad ones and sort of wonder which ones appeal to other readers. There are some that are humorous, that make you lot take a look at the globe around y'all or poke fun at linguistic communication. For example, one of my other favorites refers to loopholes.
The volume itself is tiny, easy to behave with you. Information technology'due south beautifully washed with nice thick paper. Information technology's a skilful volume to keep and/or to requite to someone with a dearest of language and a sense of humour. I recommend it highly!
